FUNDING: INTRODUCTION

Activity Development Fund

The Activities Development Fund (ADF) is a pot of money set aside for Clubs, Societies & Projects to support any new or developing activities they may be trying to achieve and that could not have been budgeted for during Annual Budgeting. All applications are reviewed by the Activities Development Committee, which is a sub-committee of the Clubs, Societies & Projects Board (CSPB).

Trips Fund

The Trips Fund supports Clubs, Societies and Projects in funding the trips they deliver for members both in the UK (United Kingdom) and abroad. This money is provided to us by the Imperial College Trust.  An application needs to be completed alongside a trip proposal to apply for this money, which is then reviewed by the Trip Funds committee, which is a sub-committee of the Clubs, Societies & Projects Board The Trips Fund has limited funds and therefore cannot fund all applications, funds are distributed according to the Trip Funding Policy which can be located on the resources section in SUMS. All CSPs should plan your trip at breakeven, presuming the trip will receive no funding. The funding should be used to support your groups to run inclusive, accessible trips for your members.

Amendments can be made to your trip to utilise this funding and subsidise associated cost, you can support making amendments by breaking up your trip payments into a Deposit and a Final Payment. The Final Payment can then be adjusted to successful designate money from the fund if you application is successful in receiving funding.

Your MG (Management Group) Chair/CU Committee is trained to help you with this topic.

Harlington Fund

The Harlington Trust was established in 1989 to manage money received from the gravel extraction operation at the Harlington playing fields, for the benefit of Imperial College students. The Harlington Grants Fund Committee oversees the allocation of grants on behalf of the Trust.

The Harlington Grants Fund Committee acts on behalf of the College’s Council to award grants from the Harlington Trust. The members of the Committee are the Vice-Provost (Education), a Past President of Imperial College Union and the current President of Imperial College Union. The Vice-Provost (Education) acts as the Chair of the Committee and the College Secretary & Registrar as its Secretary. The College Secretary & Registrar delegates this role to the Scholarships and Governance Officer or an appropriate alternative.

Applications are submitted to the Students' Union and are screened by the DPCS and Activities Team. Following screening, the Union will confirm whether your application will be recommended for funding to the Committee or not. If your application is being put forward to the committee, you may be asked for further information or to collaborate with other potential stakeholders. Once you have produced the final version of you application form it will be passed to the committee

All forms remain live throughout the year, if you miss a round, your application will be reviewed in the following funding round.
